TV Links of the Week

Last week, we started the post by looking at the crazy things Charlie Sheen has been saying while promoting Anger Management, his new FX comedy that premieres tonight at 9:00 pm.  This week, we're leading off with news about another FX comedy, the critically acclaimed Louie, which premieres its third season tonight at 10:30. The Hollywood Reporter recently participated in a conference call with showrunner, writer, and actor Louis C.K., who talked about the upcoming season and updated information about his upcoming comedy tour. My favorite tidbit from the conversation is that Jerry Seinfeld is making a guest appearance this season.

Entertainment Weekly recently interviewed Community star Alison Brie as part of its ongoing Emmy watch series. The topic of discussion was the "Virtual Systems Analysis" episode, which featured Brie's character Annie entering the Dreamatorium with Abed and exploring her relationships with each member of the study group in a crazy way that only Community is capable of*. In fact, Brie notes in the interview that this episode was crazy even for Community standards. She also talks about what she knows about next season and how she thinks it might be different without Dan Harmon calling the shots. Speaking of next season, Deadline is reporting that the entire cast is coming back.

*At least the way the old, Dan Harmon Community was capable of.

The Discovery Channel has released its lineup for Shark Week, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The event will kick off on August 12 and feature eight new specials. Shark Week is awesome, and that's really all that needs to be said about it. If you don't believe me, just watch the video below.

Finally, ESPN has made a couple of announcements regarding its pro and college football broadcasts. First, Chris Berman will call the San Diego Chargers-Oakland Raiders game on September 10. This will mark the first time Berman has called a live NFL game. Second, UGA's own David Pollack will replace Craig James on ESPN's Thursday night football coverage. I'm happy for Pollack. This is a great move for him, and I think he'll go a good job. Better than Craig James, at least.

Thanks for reading.

Matt
